Stoicism and resilience

We shared a session last week with some wonderful colleagues that was about resilience in the workplace. I try to include some things that are a little different but I'm not sure anyone was expecting to start with philosophy. The thing about the Stoics is that their attitude to philosophy was not that it should be talked about but rather that it should be a way of life.

Many of the concepts they held have influenced such things as cognitive behaviour therapy, and focused on the quality of your thoughts. Marcus Aurelius said that your life is an expression of all of your thoughts and that both happiness and unhappiness depend on perception. And that everything you see is a perspective, not the truth. Whilst the quotes may be 2,000 years old they hold true today. Our next NLP Practitioner course starts on 13th April and whilst we won't be learning about stoic philosophy we will be finding out just how valid those views still are today.

Whatever you want in life, most of us want to feel content, happy and able to manage our own wellbeing, as well as perhaps those around us. If you'd like to join us and discover how you can become a more resilient person with a fresh perspective on life, then contact us for more details about the course. You'll be glad you did.
